Vanderhoof Hartnett
Lenexa
artist Susan Vanderhoof Hartnett is proud to present her latest
abstract series at Wines by Jennifer! The "Terroir" series
was inspired by a recent trip to Oregon Wine Country, where
her brother-in-law manages vineyards for Rex Hill and Maresh
wineries. Terroir is defined as the unique qualities imparted
to a wine by the conditions of the region, climate, and soil
in which the grapes were grown. A wine enthusiast herself,
Susan interprets the fundamental essence of different wines
and wine producing regions throughout the world in her abstract
work.
A
corporate communications director by day and the mother of
two small children, Susan sees art as a spiritual counterpoint
to the hectic carnival of daily life. An artist since childhood,
she completed her first commissioned piece, a company logo,
at the age of 12. Her work is included in more than a hundred
private and corporate collections across the nation. Susan
exhibits at a regional juried art festival each fall, and enjoys

am always surprised at the results when I paint – I may wake
up one day with a strong urge to create, and some vague inspiration
or idea, and the art emerges on its own as if through a source
