Pinot
Noir is the noble red grape of Burgundy and while
it is difficult to grow and vinify, done correctly
it produces some of the best reds found anywhere
in the world.
This
beautiful wine comes from the nearly 70-year old
vines of the Premier Cru vineyard of
Les Beaumonts
in the
village of Vosne-Romanée, one of the smallest
wine villages in Burgundy.
Bottled
without filtration or fining, it
is garnet
in color, with a bouquet of cherries and slight stewed
tomato. The palate follows the nose with tart cherries
balanced with wonderful acidity and firm tannins
on the long finish, making this wine a worthy candidate
for 10 years or more of cellar aging.
Enjoy
with grilled lamb chops or game dishes.
