Bernardina vineyards and estate in Alba became the
Ceretto family headquarters in the late 1980's. The
property was an old farmstead dating back to the
middle of the 19th century that had belonged to the
first King of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II. The family
purchased the estate in 2000.
After producing individual varietal wines from the
vineyards at Monsordo Bernardina, in 1997 the Cerettos
decided to create a blend from the world’s leading
red-grape varieties. Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and
Merlot were blended with native Nebbiolo to achieve
a wine with international style.
Rosso has a deep, ruby-red hue, with garnet undertones.
It offers rich, fruity
aromas strengthened by touches of spice and vanilla.
An opulent structure is balanced with soft, sweet tannins.
