Château Coutet is established on the first hill
of Saint-Emilion, a very fortunate position overlooking
the Dordogne Valley. This land has always been highly
favorable to the vine, and indeed its closest neighbors
are all prestigious châteaux. Their vines have
always been grown with the utmost respect for land and
nature, and are currently in the process of organic certification.
The 2009 vintage is a blend of 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet
Franc, and 5% Malbec. Dark in the glass, with softer
tannins and fresh ripe fruits with chocolatey notes from
the Merlot, sweet tobacco notes contributed by the Cabernet
Franc, and a touch of juiciness from the Malbec.
Wonderful with strong, hard cheeses, or enjoy with the
“Vegetable Beef Soup” from our Wines
