grape growers and winemakers Ben and Jake Fetzer
grew up on the Fetzer Home Ranch, one of
Mendocino's pioneering vineyard sites founded in 1968.
Intrigued with the adjacent hillside site of fast draining
soil, desirable sun exposure and marine influenced
winds, the family purchased the 1500-acre Masút
Ranch in 1996. Because of its unique terroir, the family
petitioned for a new American Viticultural Area called
“Eagle Peak,” named after the highest peak in this

Dijon clones. All fruit was hand-sorted and the wine
was aged in 33% new French oak sur lie for 10 months
before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
