Only 170 cases were produced of this blend of 70% Oak
Knoll Cabernet Franc and 30% Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon.
It was just released in 2012 because the 27 months
spent in 100% French oak (40% new) meant it needed
additional time in the bottle.
The wine opens with cedar and old wine barrel aromas,
then elegantly unleashes savory baking spices, mulch,
rose stems and flakey pie crust. There's flavor packed
into every corner of this wine, building and building
to a surprisingly intense red fruit apex. The wine has
developed dramatically in the last year; it's now fully
integrated and offering tertiary herb notes of mint and
with the “Lamb Shanks Osso Buco” from our Wines
by Jennifer Cookbook.
