is a beautiful region that sits landlocked in the
center of Italy. The local grape Sagrantino
grows around the hilltop town of Montefalco, and
in fact, is grown nowhere else in the world. It produces
powerful wines that generally reach full maturity
10-15 years after harvest, but can bottle-age for
more than 30 years.
This 100% Sagrantino is extremely rich and rounded
by extended maceration in oak, a technique often
used to “tame” the wine. Intense ruby red color,
with aromas of red fruit and a touch of spice and
balsamic. Rich, intense and long, with firm structure
and good balance.
