White Wine 2006 Candoni Pinot Grigio Veneto, Italy The prestigious Candoni family have been successful food and wine merchants in Italy since the 1800's and are synonymous with culinary and artistic excellence. The wine is straw-yellow in color, with just a hint of green. It has a full, fruity aroma that is very long-lasting, and a dry, mellow taste that is particularly well balanced for such a full-bodied wine. This wine’s finest expression is achieved when served as an aperitif or with freshly-caught fish, pasta and poultry. This wine should be served young for the greatest appreciation of all its fragrance and taste, and stored in a dark, cool, damp room.     The Veneto region offers a wine culture that dates back to ancient traditions: first with the Ancient Romans, continuing throughout Medieval times with the monastic orders, and on through the reign of "Her Serenissima", the Marine Republic of Venice – all this time developing and passing on the cultivation of wine. Today, the Veneto is the region that produces the major quantity of wines in Italy.

Red Wine Huntington Wine Cellars 2005 California Petite Sirah   Founded in 1989, Huntington Wine Cellars is located in Healdsburg, California, in the heart of Sonoma County. Huntington sources grapes for their wines from small lots of select varietal grapes from several unique vineyard sources throughout California. Regions represented include the Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Napa Valley and Central Coast. The resulting wines are complex in Huntington’s signature style: uniquely identifiable, refined, elegant and understated. The grape variety known as Petite Sirah in California is indeed the same as the French variety ‘Durif’, and is a descendant of the true Syrah of the Rhone Valley. This variety has many fans among consumers for the deep colored, robust and ageworthy wines it produces. Petite Sirah is prized for its dark, inky color and intense tannin with flavor profiles that include blueberry, pepper, blackberry and black cherry. When this wine is first poured, the room fills with the scent of fresh blueberries. Enormous fruit characteristics include aromas of black fruit, chocolate, currant, blackberry and black cherry. The palate is rich and full, blanketed with soft tannins. This Petite Sirah is an amazing wine with its subtle layers of fruit and a rich jammy intensity that shows refinement and finesse in every sip. Varietal composition is 88% Petite Sirah and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon. Awarded 90 points, a Gold Medal, and "Best Buy" at the 2007 World Wine Championships.
