Pedro Juan Mayol, a Spanish immigrant to Argentina,
was a grape grower in the early 20th century and
his family
carries on the tradition today. They believe in showing
the character of each of
their unique vineyards by producing single-vineyard
wines in limited
quantity.
Approximately
60 minutes south of the city of Mendoza, their
Uco Valley vineyard is among the highest
altitude vineyards in all of Argentina.
This Bonarda
sees no oak. It features an intense blue color with
violet hues characteristic
of a complex
Bonarda.
Fresh
and
quite
fragrant floral
aromas. Light on the palate but rather spicy, with
juicy mint flavors and fresh blackberries.
The mild
tannins make this an easy wine to enjoy with light
cheeses and pasta.
