Napa Valley, California
wines begin in the great vineyards of Napa Valley
where the winemakers, Rob Mondavi, Jr. and Tony
exceptional fruit from both
the volcanic hillside soils and the deeper alluvial
soils of the valley floors. This combination of fruit
from the classic Oakville, Rutherford and Stags
Leap appellations, along
with those from Napa's emerging sub-appellations,
gives the desired layering
of flavors in this complex wine.
Additionally, the blending in of 4.8%
Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc provides
to the lush berry flavor profile of this Merlot.
