Chianti Classico is composed of 90% Sangiovese grapes
and 10% other indigenous red grapes, all hand-harvested
in late September and early October.
The wine is aged 80% in French oak vats and 20%
in French and American
for about 12 months, with further bottle aging of
red with violet shades. Fruity aromas of cherry and
plum, lightly spicy with black
and juniper notes. Dry, warm, and soft on the palate
- quite fresh and tannic, well balanced, intense
hour before pouring with Porterhouse Chops as served
at our recent Alfresco Wine Dinner!
