2012 Michel Schlumberger La Bise Pinot Blanc

The first vines were planted on what is now Michel-Schlumberger Benchland Estate in 1979, by Jean-Jacques Michel, a native of Switzerland. In 1991, Jacques Pierre Schlumberger joined the winery team, bringing with him a more than 400-year family legacy of winemaking in Alsace, France, at Domaine Viticoles Schlumberger. The Michel-Schlumberger brand was born, and over the years, the reputation of the wines and the beauty of the Estate garnered attention from around the world.

Fermented in stainless steel at cool temps to preserve the fresh fruit character, the wine is pale straw in color, with aromas of fresh white peach, Anjou pear, rose petals and wildflowers. Bright acidity on the palate, with concentrated, fresh floral and white peach flavors.

2009 Penley Estate "Gryphon" MerlotIn 1988, when Kym Tolley established Penley Estate, he took the first step to continuing the winemaking heritage of his families. On his mother's side, he is a direct descendant of Penfolds founder Dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold, and on his father's side he is a Tolley, another one of Australia’s pioneering wine families. Prior to establishing the Estate, Kym cut his teeth working for Penfolds under the tutorage of Grange creator Max Schubert.

The wine is deep ruby red in color with a bright hue. The bouquet is rich and complex with hints of violets, plums, a touch of spice, and savory fruitcake elements. The French oak is restrained and well integrated. Medium-bodied with a strong mid-palate of mulberry and savory forest underbrush flavors. The texture is soft, with integrated, smoky vanilla French oak, finishing with a refined, smooth tannin structure.
