Featured Wine

Below are the December, 2013 Featured Wines for the Wines by Jennifer Wine Club:

White Wine

Coppo "La Rocca" Gavi

Piedmont, Italy

Coppo "La Rocca" GaviPiero Coppo founded the Coppo winery in 1892, and today the family's fourth generation continues the success by upholding the values that built the winery: loyal dedication to the traditions of the Asti region.

Made from the indigenous Cortese grape, the wine is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with no malolactic fermentation in order to preserve Gavi's textbook freshness and zesty fruitiness. The wine is refined in tanks for three months prior to bottling and is released ready to be enjoyed.

Pale yellow in color with subtle greenish reflections, the wine is fresh and delicate on the nose with hints of citrus. On the palate, it is crisp, light, and dry with balanced acidity and a delicate finish. Enjoy with the “Crostini with Proscuitto di Parma” from our Wines by Jennifer Cookbook!

Red Wine

Casa Silva

"Cuvee Colchagua" Carmenere

Colchagua Valley, Chile

Casa Silva "Cuvee Colchagua" CarmenereThe Silva family pioneered grape growing in the Colchagua Valley with the first vineyards back in 1892, and their cellar is the oldest in the valley today. They strive to innovate in their vineyards, and continue to champion the advancement of the signature Carmenere grape by investing in research studies in their vineyards to study new clones and microterroirs.

Bright and intense ruby red in color, with aromas of black cherries, plums, and hints of spice. On the palate, it is round and powerful, with sweet, soft tannins, balanced acidity, and a long finish.

Aged 50% in oak for eight months, this is a great pairing with the “Hearty Soup” recipe from from our Wines by Jennifer Cookbook!
