by Jennifer Wine Club:
Named after Robb Talbott’s youngest daughter, the Kali
Hart Chardonnay is made using 100% estate-grown fruit from
Talbott’s Sleepy Hollow and Diamond T vineyards. Fruit
from these vineyards produce wines that have gained a reputation
for their lushness, grace, and great aging potential, and
have become benchmarks of quality on the Central Coast.
rich, inviting nose shows bright tropical notes that
continue on the palate, where refreshing flavors of pineapple
and honeydew are complemented by refreshing acidity. A
generous mid-palate leads to a long citrus and tropical
fruit finish with hints of minerality and French oak (15%
of which 5% is new).
Nine months spent sur lie provides additional depth, texture,

by Jennifer Cookbook!
Contini "Verso Rosso"
IGT, Puglia, Italy
A blend of indigenous Puglia grapes (60% Negroamaro,
35% Primitivo, 5% Malvasia Nera), this wine is produced
in the “appassimento” style, where a small percentage
of the grapes are dried on mats before they are pressed,
essentially turning them into raisins. This process,
similar to the technique used in Amarone production
in the Veneto region, gives the wine plenty of richness
and a dark fruit profile.
These raisinated characteristics announce themselves
on the nose, integrating with brooding aromas of black
fruits and spice. More dark fruit awaits on the rich
and full-bodied palate, with additional complexity
derived from 18 months barrel aging in Slavonian oak.
