Featured Wine

Below are the October, 2015 Featured Wines for the Wines by Jennifer Wine Club:

White Wine

Château Tertre de Launay

"Cuvée du Moulin"

Entre-Deux-Mers, Bordeaux, France

Château Tertre de Launay "Cuvée du Moulin"Soussac is considered one of the best villages for white wines in the Entre-Deux-Mers, and the Greffier family has been making wine there for six generations. They became quite well known after their Château Tertre de Launay wines were added to the wine list at Taillevent, the famous Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris.

This crisp, aromatic white is laced with brilliant mineral notes and a firm citrus acidity. A blend of three traditional Bordeaux white varietals, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillion, and Muscadelle, it derives its unique complexity and depth from the latter varietal, one seldom used these days due to its fickle vineyard temperament.

Serve with the “Jasper's Lobster Cappuccino” recipe from our Wines by Jennifer Cookbook!

Red Wine

Herdade Dos Machados

"Morgado da Canita"

Alentejano, Portugal

Herdade Dos Machados "Morgado da Canita"Located in the southern half of Portugal, the sparsely populated Alentejo region covers about a third of the country. It has long been known for its vast cork production, but in recent years has also garnered attention for its quality red wine production.

This blend of the indigenous Alentejo grapes Aragonez, Trincadeira, Alfrocheiro, and Castelão is a structured and opulent wine. Layers of dark fruits and solid tannins give dense character, while red fruits burst out to provide balancing acidity and a perfumed aftertaste.

Pair with the “Basque Lamb Stew” recipe from our Wines by Jennifer Cookbook.
