Featured Wine

Below are the September, 2016 Featured Wines for the Wines by Jennifer Wine Club:

White Wine

Cremele Recas

“Solo Quinta” White Blend

Cremele Recas "Solo Quinta"Romania is the cradle of the ancient wine making world, and the Cramele Recas vineyards are located on a site that has been cultivated since at least 1447.

The wine is an unlikely blend of the familiar Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes with local varieties Feteasca Regala and Muscat Ottonel. It is found today in some of the best Michelin-starred restaurants in the world, and was crowned with a Great Gold Medal for best white wine at Vinalies Internationales, an important international wine competition in France.

Ripe apricot, pineapple, guava, and subtle floral character, with a lovely citrus zest note to give balance. Oak aging provides inviting, complex hints of toast, honey, and vanilla that go well with the “Stuffed Mushroom Caps with Blue Cheese Souffle” recipe from our Wines by Jennifer Cookbook!

Red Wine

Marchesi Fassini

Chianti Classico Riserva

Tuscany, Italy

Marchesi Fassini Chianti Classico RiservaOn September 24, 1716, Grand Duke Cosimo III de’ Medici issued a notice to define the boundaries of some particularly well-suited areas producing the finest quality wines in central Italy. To celebrate the 300th anniversary of this first declaration of what is known today as the Chianti Classico DOCG, we're pleased to present for your drinking pleasure the Marchesi Fassini Chianti Classico Riserva.

To earn the right to be called Chianti Classico Riserva, the wine must be composed of a minimum 80% Sangiovese and spend a minimum of 24 months in oak barrels, with an additional refinement in bottles for a minimum period of three months before commercial release.

Adorned with the traditional "black rooster" indicating its Classico status, the wine is a deep ruby red color, with an intense and typical bouquet of earth, wild red berries and underwood notes. Harmonious, dry, savory, and persistent in the mouth, pair this beautiful wine with the Mediterranean Palmiers from our Wines by Jennifer Cookbook!

Chianti Classico Region
