Featured Wine

Below are the March, 2017 Featured Wines for the Wines by Jennifer Wine Club:

White Wine

Chacewater Sauvignon Blanc

Lake County, California

Chacewater Sauvignon BlancChacewater is a family-owned and -operated winery and olive mill located in Kelseyville, a small town tucked away in Lake County, California. They produce only small lots from the finest natural ingredients sourced from select vineyards and estate-grown olive trees.

Chacewater is a small village on the southern tip of England near Cornwall, and the name was chosen to honor the Manuel's ancestral family located there. The symbol on the label is the mark of a Chacewater church craftsman.

This award-winning organic SB is clean and fresh, with grapefruit and gooseberry notes cut with an herbal note. Steely, crisp acidity rounds out this beautifully balanced wine that begs for the “California Wraps” from our Wines by Jennifer Cookbook!

Red Wine

Viña Maquis Carménère

Colchagua Valley, Chile

Viña Maquis CarménèreThe Hurtado family has owned the Viña Maquis vineyard for more than a century, but it wasn’t until recently that they decided to make their own wine from this premium fruit. They built a state-of-the-art winery and set out to make Maquis one of the great properties in all of South America. To that end, in 2005, Maquis became the first (and still only) South American producer to work with consulting winemaker Xavier Choné, whose other clients read like a veritable “who's who” of elite wineries from around the world, including Opus One, Joseph Phelps, and Dominus Estate.

This Carménère presents spicy aromas of cinnamon, clove, cocoa and red fruits. In the mouth, it’s fresh and vibrant, with sweet tannins and a full-bodied flavor that ends in a lovely, lingering finish. Serve with the “Hearty Soup” recipe from our Wines by Jennifer Cookbook!
