Featured Wine

Below are the March, 2020 Featured Wines for the Wines by Jennifer Wine Club:

White Wine

Dunham Cellars

"Lewis Estate Vineyard" Riesling

Columbia Valley, Washington

Dunham Cellars "Lewis Estate Vineyard" RieslingDunham Cellars is a small, family-owned winery that makes its home in a rustic, remodeled World War II-era airplane hangar in Walla Walla, Washington. (Airplanes for the win!)

Their single-vineyard Riesling from the prestigious Lewis Estate Vineyard nestled in the foothills of Rattlesnake Ridge confirms what Riesling lovers worldwide have long known: this noble varietal does indeed thrive in the unique climate that is Washington State.

Pale straw in color, the wine opens with fresh notes of lime, Meyer lemon and Bartlett pear. Hints of petroleum wax, orange blossom and wet stone are reinforced by a crisp acidity that pays tribute to the family’s traditional Germanic approach.

Built to age beautifully, you can also drink now with the “Fried Spring Rolls” from our Wines by Jennifer Cookbook®.

Columbia Valley AVA

Red Wine

Remhoogte Wine Estate

"Soaring Eagle" Red Blend

Stellenbosch, South Africa

Remhoogte Wine EstateAfter Don and I paid a visit to esteemed South African producer Remhoogte Wine Estate, we were bound and determined to get our hands on their fabulous wines back home in the States. It took 16 long months wrangling with importers and distributors and such, but you are about to be rewarded for our perseverance!

The blend is Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinotage from the illustrious Simonsberg sub-appellation in Stellenbosch. Deep garnet in color, with aromas of red cherries, black current, fynbos (a native Western Cape shrub), and white pepper. Berries, cherries and fresh vanilla are evident on the palate, with an elegant, balanced mouthfeel and light, chalky tannins on the long, savory finish.

Enjoy with the “Blue Cheese Pork Tenderloin with Merlot Sauce” from our Wines by Jennifer Cookbook®!
