Featured Wine

Below are the April, 2020 Featured Wines for the Wines by Jennifer Wine Club:

White Wine

Flora Springs Sauvignon Blanc

Napa Valley, California

Flora Springs Napa Valley Sauvignon BlancThe estate Crossroads Vineyard in Napa Valley’s Oakville appellation is the fruit source for this excellent Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc, a vineyard the family has farmed for over two decades. The warm days and cool evenings provide an ideal climate for Sauvignon Blanc, allowing the variety’s natural fruit flavors and acidity to develop in tandem.

To impart complexity, the wine was fermented in stainless steel before aging for seven months in a combination of stainless steel, large wooden oval casks, concrete “egg” tanks, small French oak barrels, and stainless steel drums. The wine in barrel rested sur lie and was stirred every two weeks, re-suspending the lees and lending an appealing creaminess to the finished wine.

Enjoy with the “Spinach Squares” from our Wines by Jennifer Cookbook®.

Red Wine

Nick Goldschmidt

"Fidelity" Red

Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California

Goldschmidt "Fidelity" RedVeteran Sonoma winegrower Nick Goldschmidt knows all the great spots for growing Cabernet and Merlot in the Alexander Valley. He has farmed the Crazy Creek vineyard for over 25 years and just loves the quality of fruit.

This Merlot-driven California meritage is round and silky, with small percentages of Cabernet Sauvignon added for structure, and Petit Verdot for tannin, color, and flavor.

Fresh blueberries and red cherries lead the way, with a touch of French vanilla oak for balance and complexity. Drink now or over the next five years with the “Blue Cheese Pork Tenderloin with Merlot Sauce” from our Wines by Jennifer Cookbook®!
