As we all know, wine complements a variety of dishes, but did you know that it can also spice up regular ol' burgers on the grill? Tonight from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, we'll be demonstrating all kinds of new and imaginative ways to enhance your burger-grilling experience, so kick off your Independence Day weekend with this uniquely American favorite - paired perfectly with wines, of course. Wednesday, July 9th - Alfresco Wine Dinner at Wines by Jennifer. It's that time of year again! That's right, Wines by Jennifer's summer Alfresco Wine Dinners are back. Join us tonight at 6:00 PM for this six-course "Greek Grill" paired perfectly with delicious wines:

• Grilled Shrimp Skewers with Romesco Sauce
• Greek Chopped Salad
• Basque-Style Lamb with Chimichurri Sauce

Tuesday, August 5th - Wines by Jennifer Private Wine Club Event: Zaca Mesa Winery & Vineyards Private Wine Tasting. Join us from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM tonight as we welcome back our good friends from Santa Barbara County, who will be tasting us on their latest vintages. Friday, August 15th - Special Guest Winemaker Kaj Ahlmann at Wines by Jennifer. Join us in extending a special "welcome home" to our good friend Kaj Ahlmann of Six Sigma Ranch, who will be tasting us on all his delicious wines in our Tasting Room tonight from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Originally from Denmark, Kaj lived in the Kansas City area for many years before purchasing his Lake County, California ranch. We have had the great pleasure of visiting him there and can attest that it is the home of some of the most interesting and exciting wines we've seen from California in a long time. No RSVP required and the regular tasting fee applies.

Thursday, September 4th - Guest Winemaker Keith Brien at Wines by Jennifer. Come join the fun from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM as we welcome Australian winemaker Keith Brien to Wines by Jennifer. At Silver Wings Winery in central Victoria, Keith is crafting wines from estate-grown old-vine Shiraz and Mourvedre fruit and he will be tasting us on several tonight. No RSVP required and the regular tasting fee applies.

Saturday, September 27th - September Private Wine Club Event: Premium Beer Debut at Wines by Jennifer. OK, let's be clear: we love wine first and foremost, but we admit that there are times when there's no substitute for a nice, cold beer! And not just any old "Duff" beer, either. In keeping with our philosophy, we're talking high-end, hard-to-find, boutique beers from around the world like those we enjoyed in our recent travels through Belgium, Holland, and Luxembourg. (Relax already - we drank wine in France!)

If you agree, then make your plans now to join us and Chris Straatmann of Missouri Beverage from 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM as we usher in the "Premium Beer Era" at Wines by Jennifer with beer education and samples which we will be pairing with tailgating-style foods just in time for football season. Sunday, September 28th - Italian Alfresco Wine Dinner at Wines by Jennifer. Join us for our grand finale of the season from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM as we enjoy an Italian-themed wine dinner in our Wine Garden. You'll be treated to this six-course meal with matching wines for only $75 per person, all-inclusive:

Saturday, October 4th - Village West Winefest. This benefit for the American Red Cross of Wyandotte County will be held from 3:00 - 8:00 PM at Chateau Avalon and will feature over 200 wines and 50 varieties of beer. Admission is just $50, or $100 for the VIP Pavilion. More information and tickets are available at their website. Jennifer will be presenting a fun and informative wine topic at this event, so come join the fun and support a worthy cause at the same time.

Saturday, October 11th - Wines by Jennifer Private Wine Club Event: Grape Stomp 2008 with Jason Gerke of Jowler Creek Vineyards. Don't miss one of our most anticipated events of the year, as we welcome our good friend Jason Gerke back to Wines by Jennifer at 2:00 PM to lead us in Grape Stomp 2008.

Saturday, October 25th - OktoberFest at Wines by Jennifer. Who says Oktoberfest is only for beer? Certainly not us, so don't miss the biggest event of the year at Wines by Jennifer from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM and experience Oktoberfest like you've never experienced it before. We'll have appetizers, live music, and over 60 wines to sample throughout the shoppe, so get here early and be ready for a party!

November Private Wine Club Event: Jennifer's Excellent European Adventures. Because of the interest shown by our customers, we'll be hosting an evening with Jennifer as she describes the details of her recent backpacking travels through Europe. This trip took her through several of France's most famous wine regions, including Alsace, Burgundy, the Loire Valley, and Champagne. Come learn more while tasting appetizers and wines from these beautiful areas as she recounts the trip with stories and pictures. Time and date TBA soon!
