"Interesting & Unusual
Enclosures"
White
Wines

This
2005 California wine is a fresh, crisp blend of Chardonnay,
Trebbiano, Muscat Canelli, with small amounts of Marsanne,
Rousanne,
and Viognier. The result of this offbeat concoction is a
wine that is simultaneously fruity (apple and pear) and floral
and provides the most refreshing mouthfeel. Sip a glass by
the pool, or try with spicy Asian fare.
-
This
2007 California Central Coast Chardonnay offers generous
aromas of ripe pineapple, honeysuckle, apple
and succulent lime
zest. At first, the taste is reminiscent of
vanilla custard and lemon chiffon, at the same time possessing
a soft, fun
citrus zing. It continues with a bit of brioche,
a touch of toasty oak and a full, round texture, then ends
with
a silky, delicious finish.

A blend of 51% Shiraz and 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, this 2005
vintage from Langhorne Creek in South Australia was aged
in neutral American oak for 15 months. Purple in
color, it reveals scents of cedar, tobacco, blackcurrants
and blueberry. In the mouth, it is supple-textured with black
berry flavors and a bit of mint in the background. This nicely
balanced effort has very good depth and length. Drink this
excellent value over the next 3-4 years.
-
Deep
in color with great intensity, this 2007 Shiraz from South
Eastern Australia is bursting with blackberry fruit juice,
blueberry jam and masses of
clean
varietal Shiraz
fruit. It’s well balanced with black liquorice, pepper and
spice giving tremendous flavor and length. The wine was matured
in French and American oak.
-
This
2006 California Cabernet Sauvignon was produced with premium
fruit from Paso Robles, Monterey and Lodi
vineyards that hold a high standard to sustainable
winegrowing practices. 92% Cabernet Sauvignon,
8% Petite Sirah. Dark, firm, richly flavored and beautifully
structured, this wine opens with exotic aromatics
of toasty
spice and bright cherry, followed by focused, generously
layered flavors of currant, black cherry, plum
and toffee. A long, intricate finish is boosted by a nice
seam of acidity.
A great accompaniment to a wide variety of dishes.

Great things come in small packages! This tiny little Pink
Moscato from Victoria, Australia has become a great big
phenomenon. And, why not? It's the very
definition of fun. Originating in northern Italy's Piedmont,
the 2008 vintage is light in alcohol, fantastically fizzy
and shows summer fruits, rose petal and Turkish delight.
It comes
in 375ml crown
sealed bottles (the perfect amount) and we suggest serving
with a straw.
