- This Argentine estate was
founded in 1950 by two brothers that were second
generation Italian immigrants. Pale yellow color with subtle
golden flashes, their Salta Torrontés is very aromatic
in the nose, with elegant notes of citrus and jasmine. Medium-bodied,
with good acidity
and great persistence on the long and pleasing finish. It pairs
very well with salads, seafood, sushi, Asian food and steamed
- The Pinot Gris
variety was actually first identified in the Pfalz region
of Germany, where it is second only to Italy in acres planted.
This Pinot Gris is made in a full-bodied, dry style, full
of fresh, unoaked fruit and a crisp texture. Half of each
vintage is made in large, neutral oak casks for depth and
complexity, while the other half is done in stainless steel
to preserve freshness and vibrancy. It is an excellent partner
for salmon, chicken or pork.
- This Australian
winery has spread its wings and now produces an excellent
Sauvignon Blanc. Bright aromas of lemon and grapefruit peel
and fresh passionfruit lead to an expressive palate of lemons,
and nectarine, with a lip-smacking, fresh acidity that keeps
you longing for more. Crisp, zesty and refreshing, it's perfect
with the “Seven Layer Salad” recipe from our Wines
by Jennifer® Cookbook!
- Developed in
1961 as a cross of Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache, Marselan
produces an easy-drinking and food-friendly wine. The family-run
estate lies in the tiny Southern Rhone hamlet of Saint Marcel
d’Ardeche. This medium-bodied wine shows aromas and flavors
of black currants, wild herbs, loamy earth, and tobacco leaf,
along with a subtle meatiness that makes it a nice pairing
for a variety of game dishes.
- This family-owned
estate is one of the five founding wineries of the now famous
Margaret River district of Western Australia. Their Shiraz
gives elevated floral notes of roses and subtle violets,
with flavors of dark black cherries, blueberries and mulberries.
Well-integrated and finely woven with subtle sweet oak, a
delicate acid line and chalky structural tannins.
- This winemaker's experiments
with larger French oak barrels more typical of the Rhone
than California yields rounder, softer-textured and more
elegant wines. This blend of Grenache,
Mourvedre, and Cinsault is a deep purple color. Aromas
and flavors of spicy black raspberry, blackberry pie, ripe
and briary loganberry fruit mingle with hints of white
pepper, cocoa, crushed rocks, smoke and savory spices. Dense
structured yet surprisingly rounded.
