"Wines for Your Easter Table"

Week of April 11th, 2017

White Wines

  • Located just 30 minutes from Barcelona in the iconic Cava-producing region of Penedes, this project brings together the knowledge and experience of nine different wine-elaborating cooperatives from different Denominations Origin in Catalonia. This brut is a traditional blend of Xarel-lo, Macabeu, and Parellada that undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle, and receives a minimum 14 months aging in the cellars of Sant Sadurni d’Anoia. Intense, lively bubbles fill the mouth with elegant notes of green apple through to a clean and crisp finish.
  • This estate was the first and still the only vintner to plant the French variety of Viognier in Piedmont. This 100% Viognier is intense yellow with greenish reflections, with deep scents of exotic fruits, pear, and banana. Smooth and balanced, with good weight in the mouth, this wine is tasty with seafood, white meats, cheeses, sushi, and curry.

Red Wines

  • Known locally as Bursona, Longanesi is a vine native to the area of Ravenna in Emilia Romagna. Ruby red color with intense fruity, floral and grassy aromas. In the mouth, flavors of cherry, plum, and licorice are balanced with optimal acidity and soft, pleasant tannins. Persistent and pleasantly bitter, pair with turkey or game dishes.
  • This small, 3-hectare estate is located west of Montalcino at a high elevation which results in a certain delicacy in the wines. Grapes for their Vino Rosso come from the same vines that produce their Brunello DOCG, and receive the same attention and benefit from several green harvests and selections in the vineyard. Suited to all courses, this wine is particularly tasty with vegetable soups, cheese, and first or second courses featuring red meat.
  • This estate has been the property of the same family for centuries, and is one of the oldest in the community of Montalcino. Ruby red in color, with a complex and elegant bouquet of undergrowth, violet, and musk. Intense flavors and pleasantly tannic, with a lively, harmonious and lingering finish. Pair with the “Stuffed Cannelloni” recipe from our Wines by Jennifer® Cookbook!
  • Now well into their fourth generation, this venerable McLaren Vale producer is one of the finest in Australia. This Shiraz is laden with dark cherries, rhubarb, plums and aniseed, complemented by a hint of fine, subtle oak and lifted with a sprinkling of pepper and spice.
