"Single Varietals from around the World"

Week of June 20th, 2017

White Wines

  • This domaine is ideally situated in the Macon village of La-Roche-Vineuse, a stone’s throw from the famous rocky outcrops of Solutré and Vergisson. Full of zip and zest, with a saturated mouthful of pure citrus and white fruit. This old-vine Chardonnay is not only an amazing value, but also a terrific reminder of how charming well-made whites from the Maconnais can be!
  • Named to honor the winery owner's grandmother, these wines are hand-sourced from select vineyards throughout the Sonoma and Napa valleys. Bright, light straw color in the glass, this Chardonnay shows aromas of honeydew melon, juicy tangerine, and a slight hint of butterscotch. In the mouth, a silky, weighty mouthfeel plays off flavors of citrus blossom and a hint of cinnamon. The slight oak structure frames this wine’s delicacy perfectly.

Red Wines

  • Historically, red wine from Maranges was known to be the darkest wine of the Côte d’Or. Deep, structured, seriously dark red Burgundies with thickly textured tannins, these were not wines to drink immediately. This domaine is dedicated to preserving that tradition. Light cranberry and strawberry aromas, with a palate that is medium-bodied, featuring crisp and slightly rustic red berry notes and a touch of spice on the finish.
  • This Tempranillo from Amador County is medium-weight, with classic red cherry and leather aromas and flavors of cherry, berry and plum. The name Tempranillo comes from tempra, Spanish for "early," because it ripens earlier than most. Come learn more about Amador County, Livermore, and Lodi at our special California open-house tasting event this Friday, June 23rd from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Ask for details!
  • The wines are produced at the bodega located in Tupungato in the heart of Mendoza's Uco Valley. Fruit is sourced from estate vineyards located at 1,300 meters above sea level. Intense red color with purple hints. Floral aromas of violets and delicate red fruits. The palate is full and intense, providing a classic Andean Malbec experience. Try with the “Beef Empanadas” from our Wines by Jennifer® Cookbook!
  • After a lengthy absence due to a string of poor vintages in the tiny SoCal AVA where these old-vine Zin grapes reside, this amazing Cucamonga Valley Zin has returned! Fragrant Moroccan-Asian spices. Deep black cherry fruit, dried cranberry, and orange zest flavors lead to dusty vanilla oak, graham crackers, and cocoa. Mouthfeel is creamy yet tangy, with sturdy tannins and a long, lush finish. Super concentrated and quite drinkable now, but will age a good 15 - 20 years.
