"Europe vs. South America"

Week of July 4th, 2017

White Wines

  • Established in 1960, the winery is nestled at the foot of the hill of Cartizze in the prestigious Valdobbiadene zone of Treviso. The blend for this Prosecco is primarily the traditional Glera grape, with a dash of Cabernet Sauvignon added to achieve the beautiful pinkish hue. Delicate aromas of strawberry, wild cherry and a note of citrus are mirrored on a finely balanced and long palate.
  • This Mendoza white wine is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Sauvignon Blanc. Bright and golden yellow color, with rich, fresh tropical fruit aromas and hints of citrus and lime. Concentrated pear and lime in the mouth, with a long, balanced finish that is clean and fresh. Try with the “Baked Goat Cheese with Baguette” recipe from our Wines by Jennifer® Cookbook!

Red Wines

  • Fruit for this Reserva is harvested from 45-year-old vines and is composed of Rioja's most planted varietal, Tempranillo, blended with 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Red cherry notes dominate the nose, with ripe, jammy fruit displayed on a background of fine wood and balsamic character in the mouth. Powerful, with dense, structured tannins, the wine finishes broad, complex, long and persistent.
  • This biodynamic Pic St-Loup is made with fruit from estate vines originally planted with select cuttings taken from the winemaker's favorite domaines in Côte-Rôtie, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and Bandol. A blend of traditional Languedoc varietals (Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Carignan), it's abound with raw terroir and spicy garrigue, perfectly balanced with rich, juicy fruit and silky tannins.
  • This blend of 50% Malbec, 45% Syrah, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon is made with estate fruit from Tupungato in Lujan de Cuyo. Aged in 100% French oak for 10 months, it is opaque violet, almost black. Intense aromas of red and blackberries, with a silky palate and soft rounded tannins balancing notes of blackberries, spices, and truffles. Excellent with red meats, red sauces, cheeses and chocolate.
  • The family hails from the French city of Carcassonne, and have a long and prestigious wine making tradition. After finding the ideal location and acquiring property for their Argentine project in 1997, they moved from France to the foot of the Andes. This Cabernet Sauvignon is an intense purple color, with aromas of berries and delicate spices. In the mouth, the wine exhibits complex flavors of currants, tobacco and hints of green pepper.
