"Christmas in July"

Week of July 18th, 2017

White & Rose Wines

  • Venezie IGT (delle Venezie) wines are produced inter-regionally between the “Tre Venezie” Italian provinces. This Pinot Grigio is light straw in color, with aromas of honey, coconut, acacia and gardenia. The palate is full and somewhat creamy, with mild stone fruit and hints of coconut leading to a clean, citrus finish. Try with the “Olive Ball” recipe from our Wines by Jennifer® Cookbook!
  • This 100% Sangiovese rose wine is produced by cold maceration with contact between skins and must for just a few hours. Intense, coral pink color with purple hues. Pleasantly soft scents of raspberry and wild strawberry integrated with wild floral hints. This Tuscan wine is easy to drink thanks to the vibrant freshness and flavor.

Red Wines

  • This Super Tuscan blend is 50% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot, and 10% Petit Verdot. Aromas of ripe dark-skinned fruit, spice, underbrush and dried herbs. The palate delivers dried black cherries, plum, clove and grilled sage alongside tightly-knit tannins. Drink now through 2021.
  • This amazing wine is a fruit-driven, full-bodied, complex red blend sourced from southern Oregon and the Red Mountain AVA in Washington State. The rich, ripe, voluptuous fruit comes from Oregon Syrah with just enough Washington Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to give it complexity and structure. A beautiful wine for now or over the next 3 - 4 years.
  • Over two-thirds of the wine produced in the Rhône falls under the Cotes-du-Rhône appellation. Most of these wines are from the southern Rhône, with the appellation requiring at least 40% Grenache in the red blends. This blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah has effusive red-cherry fruit, with an appealing earthy, savory side tasting of Rhône garrigue. Pepper, clove and some dusty earth elements impart complexity above its price point.
  • The wine is made with juice produced by the traditional grape treading they still do in Rioja. This Tempranillo with a dash of Graciano is from vines planted in 1920. It’s a modern take on Rioja that shows bright black cherry fruit, with well-integrated oak that provides ripe, soft tannins with a smooth mouthfeel.
