Wine Tasting Table

Week of August 15th, 2017

White & Rosé Wines

  • This Napa Sauvignon Blanc sees only stainless steel, allowing the aromatic notes of grapefruit peel and honeysuckle to shine through. Bright, round flavors of fresh fruit, juicy lime, lychee, and Meyer lemon abound in the mouth, perfectly balanced with crisp acidity and a long finish. Wonderful with spicy dishes and fresh summer salads.
  • This delicious rosé is a unique blend of Tannat, Syrah and Merlot from the Gascogne region of southwest France. Tannat provides energy and structure, Merlot brings roundness and texture, while Syrah provides red fruits of raspberries and redcurrants. A special, seductive rosé that is extremely versatile at the table.

Red Wines

  • This Mendocino County Barbera has wonderful aromas of fresh picked cherries, strawberries, hints of spice, and notes of sweet vanilla. Flavors of ripe cherry pie, berry compote and mocha notes are well-balanced with sweet oak and good acidity. A 5% splash of Petite Sirah adds juiciness and color to this food-friendly wine that pairs beautifully with the “Swedish Meatballs with Paprika Sauce” from our Wines by Jennifer® Cookbook!
  • This crianza is made with Tempranillo fruit sourced from old, low-yield vineyards from the best areas of Ribera del Duero. Deep aromas of bacon and dark berries provide a likable greeting in the nose. The palate is tight, with piercing but balanced acidity creating lift and structure. Layers of flavor such as bacon, vanilla, raspberry and plum, with cured meat, vanilla and coconut on the finish.
  • Gigondas wines are known for their power rather than their elegance. This beautiful wine is a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah. Deep red color, with a complex nose dominated by red fruit with notes of wild strawberries. In mouth, it’s big and bold with well-balanced tannins that provide very good structure. Drink now or over the next 5 - 7 years.
  • One of the jewels of Napa Valley, Howell Mountain undeniably delivers some of the best Bordeaux grapes in the world. This wine is primarily Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, and embodies raw power and grace. In the mouth, Iberico smoked ham, black currant and blackberry make up the inky core of this gorgeous wine, complemented by spicy notes and ample tannins on the long and satisfying finish.
