Week of September 12th, 2017

White Wines

  • Sancerre is without question one of the greatest Sauvignon Blanc regions in the world. From 45-year-old vines grown on the chalky, stony soil so characteristic of Sancerre, this is a strongly mineral wine with a tight texture and crushed berry flavor. Dry, aromatic and bursting with freshness, try with the “Goat Cheese Torte” recipe from our Wines by Jennifer® Cookbook!
  • In Burgundy, the combination of climate, land, and tradition produce Chardonnay that is coveted by many and never precisely replicated anywhere else. Bourgogne Blanc is the basic white appellation of Burgundy, and generally produces unoaked wines with mineral and apple notes. This easy-drinking wine is loaded with fresh apple and lemon-citrus notes that is a fine pairing with chicken cordon bleu.

Red Wines

  • Burgundian in style, this unique Napa Valley Pinot Noir is bursting with flavor. Pretty, elegant, and feminine, with a beautiful balance of earth and fruit. Bright mouthfeel, with ripe raspberry flavors, spicy undertones, and notes of morel mushroom and forest floor. Slight oak on the finish frames and outlines this wine beautifully.
  • Made with fruit from 35-year-old vines growing in the hills of the Roussillon, this wine is red-garnet in color with violet reflections. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache Noir, and Syrah, it has intense aromas and flavors of red berries, blackcurrant, and licorice. Soft tannins make for an easy-to-drink wine that will pair well with sausages or grilled red meat.
  • This is the winery's flagship wine, a blend of Bordeaux varietals from their finest Stellenbosch vineyards. Cassis, black currant and dark fruits are complemented with cigar tobacco and sour cherry notes. The wine easily has 10 - 15 aging potential, during which a more savory character develops revealing wonderful drinkability and impressive complexity.
  • The winery is located in the Chiles Valley District, a region in the northeast Napa Valley that lies approximately 1,000 feet above the valley floor. The Cabernet Sauvignon vines are organically grown and dry-farmed, producing a vibrant wine with aromas of bell pepper, cherry and mint. Hints of cocoa, vanilla, clove and cinnamon spice combine with juicy currant on the palate, with medium tannins integrated on the long finish.
