Week of September 26th, 2017

White Wine

  • Fruit for this Chardonnay was harvested from a number of quality Margaret River vineyards. Pale straw-yellow with a green tinge. Aromas and flavors of white peach and nectarine, with bright citrus notes. The oak is subtle and well integrated, providing attractive secondary flavors of hazelnut cream, nougat, and soft vanilla spice, finishing with a lingering fresh acidity. Red & Sparkling Wines

  • The vision is to create a unique and distinctive range of wines from Australia's premier grape-growing regions. This Barossa Valley GSM shows lifted aromas of ripe red berries and plums are complemented by a sweet earthy undertone. A rich, vibrant and medium- to full-bodied wine, with complex flavors of red berries, chocolate and coffee. Very fine, dusty tannins complete the package by providing great length and persistence.
  • “Grenache Shiraz Mataro” is a bit of a mouthful (hence the birth of the colloquial ‘GSM’), and the blend is a stalwart of the Barossa. These three red varieties have been planted in the region for nearly 170 years, and in the past were commonly blended to make fortified wines. The wine exhibits aromas of raspberries, menthol, smoky BBQ, and hints of strawberry leaf. The palate features red berry and cinnamon spice, with a juicy mid-palate and lovely tannins.
  • This Margaret River Shiraz is deep ruby-red with a purple hue. A rich and spicy nose with dense, dark cherry, blueberry and mixed red berry fruits. This is a highly expressive wine with great fruit flavor concentration and a chewy tannin structure. The oak has provided a sweet, chocolatey flavor, along with hints of hazelnuts, toast, and white pepper lingering on the long-lasting finish.
  • One of the shining varietals of Margaret River, this Cabernet Sauvignon displays aromas of dark berries and cassis combined with mint, cinnamon spice, and leafy characters. Soft cassis and rich plum fruit flavors are complemented with savory, earthy elements of dried herb and tobacco leaf. Oak treatment provides a well-integrated tannin structure, adding texture and balance to this full-bodied wine.
  • Fruit for this sparkling red wine is sourced predominantly from McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek. A wonderful non-vintage wine, it is primarily a blend of 3-5 year-old Shiraz aged in old French oak barrels. Smooth, integrated fruit and a rich, weighty texture across the palate, with a touch of younger vintage Shiraz that brings the ripe, juicy fruit characters to the finished product. A fine example of a timeless Aussie tradition!
