Week of February 6th, 2018

White Wine

  • This smooth Sonoma County Chardonnay sees minimal handling for clarity, brilliance, and maximum expression of aromas and flavors. The wine is rich and balanced, with aromas of quince and citrus. Generous and full in the mouth, with typical Chardonnay tropical fruit flavors that shine through the nice, long finish.

Red Wines

  • Cannonau (Grenache) is one of the main red grapes on the Mediterranean island of Sardegna.This Italian wine is light ruby in color, with floral, red fruit, and spice notes on the nose. Light-bodied, with dried cherry on the palate. The mild tannins and abundant acidity make this a very versatile food wine.
  • The historic Itata Valley is one of Chile’s oldest wine making regions. This wine is a blend of Carignan, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Carmenere, Grenache, and a splash of Mourvedre from vines over 100 years of age. With a fresh palate and juicy acidity, the wine embodies the free spirit and terroir of this beautiful area of Chile.
  • Big and bold, this Aussie Shiraz is full of black fruit, with delicious, fleshy ripeness wrapped in toasty oak. Polished tannins and a hint of black pepper and eucalyptus on the finish. These characters all meld together perfectly to create a mouth-watering yet supple character, so typical of good McLaren Vale Shiraz. Pair this Shiraz with your favorite grilled meats dish from the Wines by Jennifer® Cookbook!
  • This Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich and vibrant purple color. Intense, rich, dark fruit aromas of blackberries, plums, and cassis lead to a richly textured palate full of lush black fruits, spice, and anise. The long finish showcases the elegance yet power of a great Cabernet. Drinking beautifully right now, but will age gracefully over the next several years. Pair it with the “Cold Beef Tenderloin – Cajun Style” from our Wines by Jennifer® Cookbook.

Dessert Wine

  • The grapes for this Malvasia are cultivated in Casorzo in the province of Asti, and must make up 90% of the blend in the sweet red wines of DOC Malvasia di Casorzo. Cherry red color and slightly sparkling, the wine is very aromatic, fine and intense, with balanced flavor and tannins. This wine will make the perfect digestif at the end of your next Italian meal!
