Week of April 17th, 2018

White & Rosé Wines

  • From the cool-climate Elkton AVA in Oregon’s Umpqua Valley, the wine is a shimmering pale yellow with golden and green highlights. This fun blend of Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc gives complex aromas and flavors of spice, green apples, flowers, herbs, and citrus. The wine has a hint of sweetness upon entry, which is quite well-balanced by the long, crisp, and tangy finish.
  • This Sonoma County rosé of Sangiovese is a brilliant pink color, with aromas of guava, strawberry, watermelon, raspberry, and mint. Classic flavors of watermelon, strawberry, peach, and berry, along with a nice minerality that keeps you coming back for more. Dry in style, with very bright acidity and a long-lasting finish, pair with the “Chicken Salad with Peppadew Peppers” recipe from our Wines by Jennifer® Cookbook!

Red Wines

  • Known in North America as the Mission grape, País was introduced to Chile in the 1550s from Mexico. The Maule Valley sub-region of Secano Interior Cauquenes is where it reaches its apex. This wine features clean aromas of raspberry leaf and red fruits, along with balsamic notes and great purity. Medium-bodied, fresh, clean and pure, with a pleasant bitter note that lingers in your mouth.
  • This château produced its first vintage in 1891 in the pastoral hills of Entre-Deux-Mers, and is now managed by the 6th generation of the family. This Merlot-Cab blend is an estate wine with an aromatic profile of graphite and earth that speaks clearly of Bordeaux. Full-bodied and round, with exceptional length and complexity for a Bordeaux in this price range.
  • This Zinfandel-dominated wine from Paso Robles also blends varying amounts of Petite Sirah, Grenache, and Syrah. Loaded with dark cherries, fresh, ripe strawberries, and notes of leather served with a double dip of chocolate and vanilla. Perfect with pizza, burgers, or good ole KC BBQ!
  • Petite Sirah has been a classic grape planted and grown in California for more than a century. It is exceptionally well-suited to the limiting soils found in the estate vineyards of this Paso Robles winery. Dark garnet color, with black cherry aromas and hints of vanilla and mocha. Full-bodied with notes of juicy dark fruit and integrated, meaty tannins.
