Week of May 1st, 2018

White & Rosé Wines

  • The château is situated in the Graves de Vayres appellation, across the Dordogne from Saint-Emilion, Pomerol and Fronsac. This wine has a wonderful character of citrus from its Sauvignon, with an expressive style and texture brought by its Semillon. Well balanced and crisp, with freshness and fruit that is perfect to drink in its youth with the “Maryland Crab Cakes” recipe from our Wines by Jennifer® Cookbook!
  • The estate lies on the so-called "Strada Vini del Piave" (the Piave Wine Road) at the confluence of the Piave, Venezia, and Prosecco appellation zones, a clear demonstration of how ideal the area is for the cultivation of vines. Fruity aromas of wild rose and flavors of fresh morello cherry. Slightly sparkling and lightly sweet, this 100% Raboso rosato is a delight to drink with cold cuts and medium cheeses.

Red Wines

  • A reference point for top-level Saumur-Champigny, this château has been continuously producing wine since the 1500s. Certified organic since 2011, they make benchmark Loire Valley Cab Franc: fresh, ripe fruit, soft tannins, bursting with acidity, and a wonderful lightness and freshness on the finish.
  • Made from 100% Tinta de Toro (the local name for Tempranillo), this wine is inky and dense, with earthy aromas that evolve into rich, sweet berry fruit. The palate has good liveliness and chewy tannins, with a flavor profile of blackberry and cassis that is spot-on Toro.   • The bodega is located in Alicante, an area of Spain with a very long winemaking history. The wine is primarily Monastrell, with bits of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Restrained aromas slowly evolve into a beautiful red fruit bouquet layered with subtle, earthy notes of wet forest floor and dark chocolate. The textured palate is creamy and delicate, and reminds of homemade chocolate truffles.
  • This a family-owned and -operated boutique winery crafting small lot, premium wines in the shadow of beautiful Clear Lake, California. This unique red blend fills your nose with blue berries and spice, and has a voluptuous mouthfeel of dark berry fruit, good texture and soft tannins on a full-bodied finish.
