Week of July 31st, 2018

White Wines

  • The wine is produced by one of the most renowned wine makers in all of Argentina. Semillon is a grape that is typically used in blends; however, with the higher elevation and cooler temperatures in Mendoza, the acid levels rise to create a wine that is bursting with mouth-watering goodness.
  • This white wine from the high-elevation Salta region is a pretty golden color with green tones. Pink grapefruit and floral aromas lead to a palate with a lovely level of acidity showcasing a modern and fresh style of Torrontés, Argentina's signature white grape.

Red Wines

  • The domaine covers nine hectares on one of the best slopes in the Fleurie cru of Beaujolais. Deep blackcurrant color with a hint of purple, with aromas of crème de cassis, black cherries, and a slightly nutty character. Rich Gamay fruits of blackberry and black cherry in the mouth, finishing with zesty acidity. Beautiful in its youth, but also a wine that will age quite gracefully.
  • This Spanish producer pays homage to Garnarcha, a variety that was relegated to the background for many years, but which is now returning to the limelight. The vines are located on the north face of the Moncayo Mountain on rocky soils with a high percentage of slate and pebbles. Aged for five months in French oak barrels, it features tobacco and wild berry notes, with fresh mineral qualities adding complexity.
  • This classic Lujan de Cuyo Cabernet Sauvignon is red-purple in color, with a complex nose of berries, spice, cedar, and chocolate. These aromas carry through to the palate, delivering a rich, luscious texture loaded with berry and cedar flavors.   • Known as Durif in its ancestral home of Montpelier, this Alexander Valley version of Petite Sirah is red-purple in color, with a complex nose of berries, spice, cedar, and chocolate. The rich, luscious texture in the mouth is loaded with berry and cedar flavors.
