Week of August 7th, 2018

White & Rosé Wines

  • Established in 1982, this Willamette Valley winery is the largest producer of certified estate wines made from biodynamic grapes in the country. Aromas of rose petal, ripe lychee and pink grapefruit lead to a rich, silky texture of honeydew and peach. A distinctive floral, zesty and dry finish lingers on the palate. This wonderful Oregon Gewurztraminer is a perfect match for the “Pumpkin Raisin Bread” from our Wines by Jennifer® Cookbook!
  • The family has been established in the Napa Valley since 1975. This wine delivers both delicacy and intensity, with vibrant Sauvignon Blanc aromas of honeysuckle, lemon and orange blossoms. Fresh and lively in the mouth, it gives complex Asian pear, red apple, and underripe peach flavors in the mouth.
  • This Languedoc rosé is a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. Grapes are carefully selected from the best vines to craft this fruity, rich, and elegant wine. Refreshing and soft in the mouth, it can be enjoyed with spicy dishes, grilled fish, tartar, or even KC BBQ!

Red Wines

  • Well-known for its quality Port wine production, this winery makes its red wine with indigenous Douro grapes Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. Inky black in color, the wine is full of blackberry, spice and herbal notes. Perfect with a grilled ribeye!
  • The first vineyards at the domaine were planted by the Romans, evidenced by the artifacts found in the vineyards, such as an old coin dating to 25 A.D. The blend is 60% Carignan, 30% Grenache Noir, and 10% Syrah. Meaty, spicy, and full-bodied, this is a great example of one of the finest terroirs in all the Languedoc.
  • Ruby red in the glass, this classic California Cabernet Sauvignon gives aromas of strawberry preserve and black mission fig that are complemented by a touch of thyme. Rich flavors of Bing cherry and black raspberry linger in the mouth for a long and luxurious finish.
