& White Wines
- Methode Cap
Classique is the South African term for bubbly. The
unique pale, silver-pink hue for this Pinot Noir/Chardonnay
blend comes from the Pinot. Aromas are of raspberries,
cherries and a whiff of minerality. A lively mousse, but
fine in the mouth, with subtle red berry flavors enlivened
by bright acidity and hints of oyster shell. Brisk and
structured, yet delicate on the palate, this MCC is perfect
for all seasons.
- Known locally as
“Steen,” this South African Chenin Blanc shows peach, melon
and pineapple aromas. Ripe fruit is tempered by finely balanced
to give a mouth-filling, yet refreshing, palate. This exceptionally
versatile food wine pairs well with salads, vegetables, fish
and chicken. The hint of sweetness and a slightly fuller
body make it especially tasty alongside the “Spinach Artichoke
Dip” from our Wines
by Jennifer® Cookbook!
- Marlborough is
known for its dry climate, the picturesque Marlborough Sounds,
and Sauvignon Blanc wine. This tasty version is bright and
lively, with fresh aromas of citrus and cut grass jumping
from the glass. The palate is clean and crisp, with high-toned
acidity perfectly balanced by citrus fruit and cantaloupe
- This Pinot Noir
is a blend from various parcels of fruit located in the winery's
extensive estate vineyards in Marlborough. Smoky,
dark fruit aromas are tinged with nutmeg. An early hit of
strawberry and plum
mix with brambly raspberry notes. The mid-palate introduces
dried herbs and earth with a touch of caramel. Supple with
good volume and persistence, try with a stir-fry of cubed
lamb and eggplant.
- The Shiraz grapes
for this wine were harvested from a number of different vineyards
in the Margaret River region. Deep ruby red with a purple
hue. The rich and spicy nose shows dense dark cherry, blueberry
and mixed red berry fruits. The tannin structure is chewy,
and the oak has provided a sweet, chocolatey flavor along
with hints of hazelnuts and toast, with white pepper lingering
on the finish.
- Pinotage is the
signature red grape of South Africa. Due to its thick and
tannic skin, the color is extracted
the first couple of days of fermentation. True to its varietal
fruit character, this Pinotage has ripe cherry, coffee bean
and sweet strawberry flavors complemented by subtle undertones
of dried herbs. The juicy mouthfeel is balanced with supple,
sweet tannins. The fruity style of this wine makes it lovely
on its own, or try with lamb or hearty Italian dishes.
