Week of April 16th, 2019

White Wines

  • This Columbia Valley blend is always Sauvignon Blanc dominant (>75%), but also contains small amounts of Chardonnay and Marsanne. As one of the original malic-acid friendly white wines released from Washington State, this wine is beautifully structured with wonderful Sauvignon fruit character. The ample mouth feel has a delicate balance of acid angularity and defined herbal sophistication.

  • This Columbia Valley Chardonnay is as close to a Chablis as you can find in the Pacific Northwest. The wine never touches oak, so it is a true definition of its terroir, highlighting its pedigreed birthplace of the Dionysus Vineyard.

Red Wines

  • Minimal winemaking intervention allows this Columbia Valley Merlot to display its considerable grace. It is produced with fruit from the esteemed Bacchus vineyard, an area known for balanced wines of approachability and acidity. Try it with the “Blue Cheese Pork Tenderloin with Merlot Sauce” from our Wines by Jennifer® Cookbook.
  • As Washington State's original blended red wine, this Cab/Merlot/Syrah has been produced and bottled by the estate since 1987. It is consistently recognized as one of the best values on the West Coast for its elegance and style. A wine consistent with classic northern latitude wine growing, it is known for purity and structure over modernity.
  • This Columbia Valley red reminds why Cabernet Sauvignon is a structure varietal: lean, angular, racy, penetrating and crystalline, with a more conservative fruit approach. Too many times Cabernet is abused with oak perfume and picked late, leading to flabby and complacent wine. Instead, why not take your Cab young, tight, transparent, and leave the “jam bombs” for your sugar drinking friends?
  • The flagship wine of this excellent estate, this Red Mountain red blend consistently displays dense color, firm tannins, and well-defined acidity. Always a majority blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the wine is suitable for drinking upon release, but will also reward those with the patience to age it. It represents all the vineyard blocks farmed within the estate, so it is a true chateau-production bottling. Classic Red Mountain red wine!
