Sparkling & White Wines

  • This winery's home in the eastern Veneto has been the site of prized vineyards since it was part of the Roman Empire. Fresh and exquisitely balanced, this Prosecco is straw-yellow in color, with a delicate aroma of green apples and white flowers. The flavor is very fresh, with notes of pears, apples, and citrus. Wonderful with lighter fare, but also is a perfect aperitif!

  • The Lugana zone stretches from the southern shore of Lake Garda to the spectacular Morainic Hills, created by the long, slow erosion of glaciers in the late Ice Age. The wine is made from 100% Trebbiano di Lugana grapes, and is delicate, dry and fresh, with aromas and flavors of white almond and apple.

Red Wines

  • The vineyards lie in one of Sicily’s finest wine zones, near Agrigento in the southwestern part of the island. This blend of Syrah and Nero d'Avola is deep ruby red in color, with aromas of fresh red fruits and a delicate but appealing spiciness. On the palate, it is elegant yet full-flavored, with a supple and pleasantly refreshing texture. Excellent with grilled meats and all types of roasts, but also delicious with rich pasta and rice dishes or mature cheeses.
  • This exuberant Paso Robles Cab Franc is a deep scarlet color, with black cherry and plum aromas layered with subtle notes of vanilla and cedar. In the mouth, it shows opulent texture, gentle acidity, and savory berry flavors, with a hint of velvety oak on the long and lingering finish.   • Founded in 1927, this Salento winery has been handed down like a precious inheritance from father to son over four generations. Their Primativo is a deep ruby red color, with intense aromas of ripe red fruit, cherry, mulberry, blueberry, vanilla and herbs. Powerful in the mouth, with long persistency and enjoyable tannins, pair this wine with red meats, roasts, or aged cheeses.
  • The wine is crafted by one of Lodi's most well-regarded producers. Produced with fruit from vines averaging 35 years of age, this Syrah has a rich, deep color. With enormous density and complexity in the mouth, this tasty wine will definitely have you reaching for another glass!

The Wines by Jennifer® Wine Flights program was developed to allow introduction, exploration and comparison into specific wine styles, regions, varietals, wineries and winemakers. The Port Flight will consist of three 1-ounce pours, served in unison.

Featured Flight: Zinfandels

Primitivo and Zinfandel are both clones of the Croatian grape Crljenak. Though genetic equals, they produce very distinctive wines. The Zin is much more fruit-forward, while the Primitivo is leaner and more rustic.

Zinfandel is lighter in color than both Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, but moderate tannins and high acidity make it taste bold. Most Zinfandel wines also have higher alcohol levels ranging from about 14 – 17% ABV.

We frequently see the phrase “Old Vine” associated with Zins. Though there is no set rule or law, the consensus is vines around 50 years old can be tagged as “Old Vines.” Also known as Ancient Vines, Gnarly Vines, Old Timer Vines, Old World Vines or Old Twisted Vines, they are typically in decline, producing less and less fruit. Clusters are fewer, with smaller berry size yielding more intense sugars, color and flavor.

Zinfandel works well with barbecue and lamb, while the more rustic Primitivo works naturally well with Italian meat-based entrees served with traditional red sauce.   • From Puglia, the heel of Italy’s boot, this Primativo is deep ruby red, with intense aromas of ripe red fruit, cherry, mulberry, blueberry, vanilla and herbs. Bold and long, with enjoyable tannins, pair this with red meats, roasts, and aged cheeses.
  • Paso Robles is arguably one of America’s premier Zin-growing regions. Dark berry and spicy aromas lead to a palate rich with jammy, ripe plum and blackberry flavors bolstered by a touch of black pepper. Sweet, toasted oak offers a plush mouthfeel and a long, velvety finish.
  • Fruit is from a blend of 16 different blocks of Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel vineyards with an average age of 87 years. With berries and spice on the nose, dark, sweet fruit fills the palate with just a hint of black pepper. This wine has a long, lingering finish and the potential to age
