Week of August 13th, 2019

White Wines

  • This time-honored Vermentino has been a favorite of wine enthusiasts not just in Sardinia and other areas of Italy, but around the world since the 1950s. Snappy acidity and a streak of island salinity grace this aromatic white, balanced by a pretty mix of peach skin, Meyer lemon peel and pink grapefruit flavors. Perfect for the hot summer days that are now upon us!
  • This tasty Italian white wine is made from Cortese grapes sourced from the Gavi di Gavi DOCG in southeastern Piedmont. It is unoaked, but spent time fermenting on its lees, which explains its wonderfully rich mouthfeel. Pale yellow in color, with floral and citrus aromas and flavors that lead into a minerally dry finish.

Red Wines

  • This is one of the oldest, most historic estates in Burgundy’s Beaujolais region. Boasting over 250 acres of vineyards, it is also one of the largest. Light ruby color, with aromas of fresh strawberries and raspberry. Silky red fruits in the mouth are balanced by lively acidity. Serve slightly chilled with the “Cheese Bread” from our Wines by Jennifer® Cookbook!
  • Pinot Noir fruit is sourced from four vineyards primarily planted with Dijon clones on 15+ year-old vines located in the rolling hills of the Carneros region of Napa Valley. The soft and fruit-filled nose is delicate and nuanced, with bramble, red fruit and baking spice notes. The palate has good texture and mild tannins behind lush red fruit and notes of cola and forest floor. Textbook Carneros Pinot!
  • This tasty Bordeaux Cabernet/Merlot blend has a beautiful ruby red color and a sensual nose of strawberry with a hint of pipe tobacco. Elegant and well structured in mouth with supple tannins, it is best served with grilled meats, braised duck, roasted pork, pastas, pizzas, and/or mild cheeses.
  • The wine is a blend of Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon from the illustrious Simonsberg appellation in Stellenbosch. Deep garnet in color, with aromas of red cherries, black current, fynbos (a native Western Cape shrub), and white pepper. Berries, cherries and fresh vanilla are evident on the palate, with an elegant, balanced mouthfeel and light, chalky tannins on the long, savory finish.
