Week of September 3rd, 2019

White Wines

  • The Valencia DO wine region covers some 15,000 hectares and has four distinct sub-zones, all at altitude. This unique white blend features Pedro Ximenez, Macabeo, Muscat, and Malvasia, with a couple of lesser-known indigenous varietals thrown in for good measure. Underripe stone fruit aromas and flavors, with a touch of Costa Blanca salinity in the mix, this is a fun blend from a region with a rich winemaking history!
  • This California North Coast Chardonnay is aged sur lie in barrel and tank for enhanced complexity, flavor and texture. Creamy and rich, with bright fruit character, it is expertly framed by food-friendly, mouthwatering acidity.

Red Wines

  • The wine is named for Valencia's extensive archaeological sites, including Neolithic tombs containing remains of grapes. A blend of Garnacha, Monastrell, and the once nearly extinct Mando grape, the wine speaks to you in so many ways: bright fruit, focused acidity, and a very sturdy tannic structure. Because “what grows together, goes together,” this wine is best served up with some delicious Valencia jamon!
  • This multi award-winning winery was founded in the early 1990s when the winemaker moved to Argentina from his native Bordeaux. Fruit is from Mendoza’s prestigious Luján de Cuyo sub-region. Very intense bouquet with red cherry fruit and spices. Complex and well-balanced with vanilla and chocolate notes from the oak. Excellent with the “Chicken Liver Pate” from our Wines by Jennifer® Cookbook!
  • This tasty blend is 48% Zinfandel from Sonoma, 27% Petite Sirah from Paso Robles, and 25% Barbera from Lake County. Black cherry flavors flood your senses on the front of this roller coaster, but it quickly dips into fresh blueberry and a shower of savory flavors such as white pepper, Asian spices and smoked country ham.
  • Cabernet Sauvignon is the hallmark prestige red varietal of the Napa Valley. This big, rich, red has classic black currant and plum aromas and flavors layered with complex vanilla spice from 12 months aging in French oak barrels. Worthy of your cellar, but tasting wonderful right now, this wine is the perfect example of why, in the Napa Valley, CAB IS KING!
